Mobility Package provisions contradicting Europe's climate goals

Just a while ago the Vice-President of European Parliament Roberts Zīle started a conversation on Twitter stating that after a year of debate the Mobility Package provisions contradicting Europe’s climate goals still haven’t been resolved. Meanwhile, the results of a study conducted by independent experts from the European Commission (EC) estimate that an additional 2.9 million tonnes of CO2 emissions will be generated in 2023 as a result of complying with these rules. What’s even more interesting – there is still no answer as to why this situation arose and how to resolve it.

Hace poco, el vicepresidente del Parlamento Europeo, Roberts Zīle, inició una conversación en Twitter en la que afirmaba que, tras un año de debate, aún no se han resuelto las disposiciones del Paquete de Movilidad que contradicen los objetivos climáticos de Europa. Mientras tanto, los resultados de un estudio realizado por expertos independientes a la Comisión Europea (CE) estimaron que se generarán 2,9 millones de toneladas adicionales de emisiones de CO2 en 2023 como resultado del cumplimiento de estas normas. Y lo que es aún más interesante: todavía no hay respuesta a por qué se ha producido esta situación y cómo resolverla.

Еще совсем недавно вице-президент Европейского парламента Робертс Зиле опубликовал в своем профиле в Twitter сообщение о том, что спустя почти год дискуссий до сих пор не найдено решение для отдельных правил Пакета мобильности, которые противоречат климатическим целям самой Европы. Результаты исследования, проведенного независимыми экспертами Европейской комиссии (ЕК) свидетельствуют о том, что в результате выполнения этих правил уже в 2023 году дополнительно образуется 2,9 миллиона выбросов CO2. В свою очередь, ответа, почему такая ситуация сложилась и как найти из нее выход, по-прежнему нет.

Tühjad lastid ja kliimaeesmärgid – Euroopa on vastuolus

Alles hiljuti postitas Euroopa Parlamendi asepresident Robert Zile oma Twitteri profiilis, et peaaegu aasta kestnud arutelu järel on mõned Liikuvuspaketi reeglid ikka veel lahendamata, mis läheb vastuollu Euroopa enda kliimaeesmärkidega. Euroopa Komisjoni (EK) sõltumatute ekspertide uuringu tulemuste kohaselt tekib 2023. aastal nende reeglite järgimise tulemusena täiendavalt 2,9 miljonit tonni CO2 heitkoguseid. Vastuseid, miks selline olukord on tekkinud ja kuidas sellega toime tulla, paraku ei ole.
